Reactive marketing at its best
The BBC were running a campaign designed to show people that they made more than just TV programming. Then news broke that Jurgen Klopp was resigned as Liverpool F.C. manager. So the organisation turned around a rapid TV spot.

The BBC were running a campaign called "Not just telly" when news broke that Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool F.C. manager, was resigning at the end of the 2023/24 season. In a masterclass of quick, reactive creativity, the organisation took a scene from beloved programme Casualty, where characters were seeing some bad news on their phone, and added a shot of the BBC Sport headline announcing Klopp's departure. The result was a genuinely funny, inexpensive, and creative ad that supported the BBC's main campaign, AND showcased the variety of services the BBC delivers. Truly a winner all-round.
